Is
everything from God?
Many people think so.
Other brochures that deal with this issue are,
The Sovereignty of God and God’s Discipline.
Yes, God is King of kings and Lord of lords
(Rev.19:16), but God said when He made man, (Gen.1:28)
“Have dominion.” That’s kingship! We are kings
under Him. The New Testament carries out that idea:
Rev.1:6, “And has made us kings and
priests…”
(Not will, but has.)
Rom.5:17, “…those who receive abundance of
grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign
in life through the One, Jesus Christ.” (That’s now!)
Words
have power!
God spoke the creation into being with words,
and He created man in His class. Psa.8:5 says, “You
have made him (mankind) a little lower than Elohim.”
That’s GOD!! Heb.2:7 quotes Psa.8:5, but the
translators couldn’t fathom how that could be true,
so they changed Elohim to angels.
You will see in the brochure titled, “What
difference does it make what I
say” that God gave us the same power.
The power that God meant for us to have cannot
be released in the majority of Christians, for their
own mouths would destroy them!
They say things like, “I was starving to
death.” “I
laughed ‘till I thought I’d die.”
“We died laughing.”
“My feet are killing me.”
Death and dying are probably the most used
words for expressing ourselves, and they license the
demons to cause it to happen!
Prov.18:21, “Death and life are in the power
of the tongue.”
James 3:2 says that if a man can control his
tongue, he can control his whole body.
(Verses 3-6 show that the tongue is the
steering wheel, like a bit and rudder.)
Can you see that God can’t turn up the power
in us with our mouths spewing out words that line us
up with Satan’s kingdom?
Matt.12:36-37,
“But I say to you that for every idle word
men may speak, they will give account of it in the day
of judgment. For
by your words you will be justified, and by your words
you will be condemned.
Everything in this life is either under the law
of sin and death, or the law of the Spirit of life,
Rom.8:2. We
may be saved, but our words will determine what
direction our lives take.
Will they fulfill the wonderful plan God has
for us, or will they keep us at a substandard level
where Satan wants us?
So how do we respond?
Let’s back up before something bad
happens. You
need to be confessing healing and protection verses
everyday for yourself and for your family!
That will create a shied of protection around
you (Eph.6:16). Psa. 91:10, “No evil shall befall you…” Get the
brochure, How to use your sword and shield.
It will help you with this.
Let me tell you a testimony and you can see how
to respond. My
oldest son was a young teen, and one evening he came
to me and said, “Mom, I think there’s something
wrong in my mouth.”
He pulled out his cheek so I could see.
His gums were very red and swollen!
So I took his hands and said, “Let’s
pray.” I
prayed, “Father, what should we do?”
The thought came into my head, “This is of
Satan, and you can command it to go.”
So I opened my eyes (you don’t bow to Satan)
and looked at the area right above his shoulder-- as
if the demon were sitting there, and I said to it,
“Demon, get your hands off these gums NOW, for it is
written, ‘Greater is He that is in me, than he that
is in the world,’” (I John 4:4).
I smiled and said, “You’ll be fine in the
morning.” And
he was.
Before we proceed, you need to know that
troubles can come from three possible sources.
What
caused it?
Things can either be from Satan, God, or
from yourself. Gal.
6:7, “What- ever a man sows, that will he reap.“
And Satan is the god of this world, II Cor.4:4, so
there you have it.
Now you need to find out from God whose fault
it is in order to take care of it.
If it’s your fault, admit it, ask
forgiveness, and make restitution if possible.
Then ask God’s help to not do it any more.
If it’s Satan’s fault, then my testimony
told earlier will help you with that.
Learning authority verses will give you needed
ammunition, also. You’ll find those in the brochure
titled, What you need to know about Satan.
Now, we deal with the erroneous idea that God
causes bad things to happen to teach us something or
to make us better people.
The brochure titled, Objections to Word of
Faith will help you with this quite a bit more
than this one can.
Briefly, God is a good God, and Satan is a bad
devil. John
10:10 makes the line plain:
Satan’s plans are to steal, kill, and
destroy; while God’s plans are for us to have a
wonderfully abundant life!
Matt.7:11,
“If you then being evil (natural) know how to
give good gifts to your children, how much more shall
your Father in heaven give good things to those who
ask Him.” (From
this we see that His goodness isn’t warped like some
Christians believe.)
But God allowed it!
No; you
allowed it! You
either brought it about by your mouth, or you failed
to provide your shield by the Word of God!
That’s a bit hard to take.
I’m sorry, but that’s what the Bible says.
God has given us authority, so it’s up to us what we
allow. Will the cancer kill you, or will you be
victorious over it?
The brochure titled, If healing is always
God’s will, then what about Job?
will answer some of the questions people
have on this issue. Paul’s thorn, and verses on
suffering are covered in that brochure, also.
God’s Discipline
When my husband was building the habit of a daily
prayer time, he had the idea that he only had to pray
on weekdays.
Well, one Saturday, he took the car to the
do-it-yourself car wash.
He put the quarter in the slot, but someone had
not put the wand on its rack, AND the trigger was
stuck on.
So immediately, hot, soapy water began spraying
out while the hose thrashed around like a snake.
He got very wet, but was chagrinned for he
already knew that God wanted him to pray EVERY day,
and he wasn’t obeying! |
