Welcome!
You are about to embark on an adventure that
will make your life beautiful!
It will affect you and everyone you know for
the better.
A
Supernatural Book
It’s not an ordinary book.
The very power of God is in it, the God who
created this universe. His words had power then, and
they have power now. Heb. 4:12 says that it’s alive.
People who read it and do what it says are changed for
the better. Their lives become beautiful. Nations have
prospered that follow its teachings. See my brochure, The Bible, the Book from God, for more
proof that it is a supernatural Book.
How to find it
Bible verses are given throughout my brochures
to prove things I’ve written. You can look these up
if you want to. Here’s how. The book in the Bible is
abbreviated, the chapter comes next, then the verse
number. So, Jn 3:16 means the book of John (fourth
from Matthew), the third chapter and the 16th
verse. II
Tim. 3:15-17 tells the value of this Book.
It was all dictated by God’s Spirit and is
good for teaching and training us to do what is right
and best. Psa.
1: 2-3 shows that it will make us prosper and succeed
at everything we do. Josh. 1:8 and Jas. 1:22-26 agree. III Jn. 2 says it’s
God’s desire that we prosper and be in health!
There are many more verses that confirm these
statements. The
Bible can make our lives good!
The day you begin to read in your Bible some
every day is the day all your problems will begin to
turn around for the better!
Don’t expect instant change, but change will
be permanent and good!
In fact,
the more you read and do what it says, the more your
life will become beautiful, and as the Bible calls it,
blessed!
The
sections of your Bible
Look in the beginning of your Bible, the table
of contents. You
will see that it is divided into two main sections,
the Old Testament, and the New Testament.
The word testament means covenant or agreement,
and it’s between God and mankind. The O.T. covers
the time period between the creation of the earth
until about 400 years before the birth of Jesus.
The N.T. begins with the birth of Jesus or near
there, and goes until about 96 A.D.
If this interests you and you wish to read more, I
very highly recommend to you Halley’s Bible
Handbook. It
is a treasure- house of information ~ far more than is
possible in this little brochure. You can purchase a copy at your local Bible book store.
Continuing to look at the contents of your
Bible, you will see the individual books that make up
the Bible. These
were written over a period of several thousand
years, and written
by many different people from kings to fishermen, and
yet they all have the same concept of God ~ an
absolutely good Being who loves us and is intimately
involved with us, and hates evil!
That‘s miraculous.
Halley’s Handbook gives brief overviews of
each book of the Bible, complete with author and date
of writing. In that table of contents there are
several listings that will be helpful for you:
How we got our Bible, Habit of Bible reading,
Habit of going to church, and one called, The Most
important thing in this book.
It suggests that every church have a plan of
Bible reading to get the people in that habit.
(That will fix lots of people’s problems!)
Those things are near the end of the table of contents. Near
the beginning is an entry called Map outline of the
Bible story. That is very interesting.
Another is, Subjects of Bible books.
This list tells you what each book is about in
just a few words.
But if you want to read more about a particular
book, open the handbook to where that book is
discussed. You will learn who wrote it and when and
why, and also the main points that are in it.
The second recommendation is the New Living
Translation of the Bible.
This Bible has a lot of good things in it,
besides being a translation that is easy to read.
In the table of contents, it has an entry
called, Where can I find it?
This one and the next one, Great Stories of the
Bible list subjects or stories and tells you where to
find them in the Bible. This is awesome!
It also has an alphabetical list of the books
so you can find them easier.
These two books will be of great help to you in
this wonderful new adventure you are beginning.
No
more problems?
No. That
is not true. But
if you will learn how to use your faith, you can win
over every negative thing in your life.
I have many brochures that can help you.
Where
should I start?
There are several places that would each be
beneficial to you.
Look at this list and choose one that appeals
to you. Read
a little every day and keep a bookmark in your place.
The
first four books of the N.T. are the stories of Jesus.
There are some duplicated stories, but from
different viewpoints.
The
book of Acts is what Jesus’ disciples did in the
power of the Holy Spirit.
The
letters, the books from Romans through Jude, are to
and about the Church, helping us to grow up and become
like Jesus.
Psalms
is mostly praise to God.
Proverbs
is wisdom, how not to be a fool.
Genesis,
the book of beginnings.
Exodus,
beginnings of the Jewish nation.
Esther,
a woman who saved her people.
Daniel,
chapters 1-6 are some great stories.
Samuel,
Kings and Chronicles are about the kingdoms of Israel,
how they prospered when they obeyed God, and when they
disobeyed God, they had trouble! |
